Today we begin work on overhead scanning of 19 bound volumes of historical minutes from the years 1909–1999, on behalf of ELM-BV (Evangelisk Luthersk Mission – Bibeltrogna Vänner) — a Lutheran mission organisation with roots in Missionssällskapet Bibeltrogna Vänner (MBV), founded in 1911.

The scanning is carried out with our Image Access Bookeye 5 V1A (Archive) — a FADGI-calibrated overhead scanner that enables gentle, non-destructive digitisation of historical books and, in this case, minutes.

After scanning comes post-processing: image processing, splitting of book spreads, division of the book pages into separate PDF documents per set of minutes, and naming of the files with the help of our own in-house software. Unproofed batch OCR is also included, to make the PDF files searchable.

Following a successful trial assignment, we have now been entrusted with the full commission, with delivery of the results within 3 months.

Read more about our service for scanning of minutes — we offer both non-destructive overhead scanning of bound volumes of minutes and rapid scanning of material that can be guillotined.
