We are digitising Lars-Eric Uneståhl's books and booklets on mental training. Uneståhl, PhD in psychology, is the man who introduced mental training in Sweden. After research on hypnosis at Uppsala University in the 1960s, he developed during the 1970s the mental training that Swedish national and Olympic teams have used ever since, and in 1990 he founded the Scandinavian International University (Skandinaviska Ledarhögskolan) in Örebro, where the training programme for mental trainers took shape. He has published some twenty books and over a hundred training programmes.
Since the summer we have scanned and OCR-processed twelve titles by and with him — just over 1,400 pages in all. The latest batch consists of six booklets and books from the 1970s and 80s: Att våga tala, Du kan bli frisk igen (the Swedish edition of the Simontons' book for cancer patients and their families), Mental träning – sport & idrott, Motivation – från teori till praktik, Motivation – livets kärna and Självpåverkan. Earlier this year we delivered Mental tuffhetsträning, Säljare i världsklass med mental träning, Hypnosis, Selfhypnosis and Mental Training, Fungera och må bättre, Mindfulness i praktiken and Stark när det gäller — books he has written himself, together with others, or provided with a foreword.
The text blocks had their spines cut off and were fed as loose sheets through our Inotec 6x1, while the covers were scanned in colour on our Image Access Bookeye 5. All printed text is OCR-processed and searchable — uncorrected OCR, with the title-page details corrected so that title, author and year of publication are accurate.
Each title has been delivered as a searchable PDF at 300 dpi, optimised for smaller file size — most between 7 and 23 MB per book — just right for reading on screen or tablet while remaining easy to search.
